Love + Marriage | A Letter to My Fiancé

July 2, 2015

Dear future husband…

I can’t stop smiling. The reality of the both of us joining our lives and families as one becomes more tangible and exciting with every day that passes since you have asked me to be your wife.

Just typing out “your wife” gives me butterflies in my stomach, reminding me of how real, raw and wonderful our new life together will be. The journey, planning and preparation for such a beautiful vocation is overwhelming in the best ways possible. We have the opportunity to work together, communicate and love each other as we navigate the ins and outs, ups and downs of the nitty gritty aspects of these next months and our life together beyond the day we exchange our vows and say “I do”.

You are the one that I want by my side amidst the joy, sadness, frustration and chaos.. I can think of no better partner in life than wonderful you, my love.

How is it that God put such a wonderful man in my life? How am I so deserving? I wake up in the morning, reminded that that your love is real, imperfect and beautiful by the symbol of promise & forever on my left hand.

I am not in love with an idea of a man or hopes of a changed man. I am in love with you, my dearest.

You are an honorable, kind, loving, faith-filled, joyful man. You continue to amaze me and I continue to fall in love with you more and more every day.

I hope and I pray that I may love you and honor you always and that you will never doubt my love for you or my belief in you.

You are my sweetheart.

I am so excited to be yours.

Love always,
Your fiancé
